There is a long list of accidents that can happen in a home. Many of them are minor and yet you still dread it if they happen.
The first step that you need to do is get a damp sponge and dab the wine on your wall to draw as much of it out as you can. Remember that you do not want to rub it at all because this can cause the stain to spread even further. If the stain is still there after blotting it then you’re going to want to move onto the next phase. You will have to be very careful though because not every paint is the same. It can cause damage if not done properly. Using dish soap and a little bit of hydrogen peroxide you can apply it to the wall. Because there is no water in this mixture, you’ll be able to apply it to the stain and let it sit there for a couple of minutes. After doing so, take a wet paper towel and rinse it with the mixture from the wall. You will at this point be able to tell whether the wine stain is gone. If it is, then finish up by drying the wall.
If this still has not taken the stain out of your wall, then you will need to move onto more drastic measures. The next level up is breaking out the bleach. However, you’re going to need to make sure that you use oxy bleach instead of your regular household bleach. This will allow you to remove the stain without effecting the color. Follow the directions as stated, soak a cloth in the mixture and then hold it to the stain for at least 5 minutes. If the stain is gone, you’re good to go. If it remains repeat the process until it is completely gone.
There are several different things that you can do when you have a little accident in the home with wine.
